Shrimp Alfredo

Classic Alfredo Recipe:

  1. Peel and devein shrimp.  Season with creole seasoning and set aside.
  2. Prepare water for pasta
  3. Prepare sauce:

1 stick of butter

1 cup of heavy cream

1 cup of  parmesan regianno cheese

1 heavy pinch of nutmeg

1 clove of garlic

salt/pepper

Add cream, butter, nutmeg, and garlic to saucepan.  Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes.  Add cheese and remove from heat.  Taste and season with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper if necessary.

While sauce is simmering prepare shrimp.  Heat saute pan over medium high, add 2 TBSP of olive oil… add shrimp and sear on one side.  Toss and add sliced red pepper and fresh basil.  Continue to saute for about one minute and remove from heat.

Toss pasta (we use angel hair) with sauce and top with shrimp mixture.

Yes ma’am.  This sauce is simple and really good.
